History
Our history spans almost 100 years and dates back to 1929, when De Meeuw was founded. Since then, we have continuously developed and systematically expanded our expertise in modular construction.
In 1991, the Dutch company De Meeuw started operations in Switzerland with the aim of establishing itself in the local market. To achieve this goal and at the same time expand its expertise in modular construction, De Meeuw acquired Hector Egger Holzbau, a company with a long tradition in timber construction, in 2001 and integrated modular construction into the company's structure. This step was accompanied by the repositioning and rebranding of the Swiss subsidiary, which has since become known as DMBAU. Under this brand, we have established ourselves as one of the leading providers of modular construction solutions.
Due to increasing competition in the Dutch domestic market, De Meeuw decided in 2022 to focus its activities primarily on the Benelux countries. As part of this strategic course, all foreign divisions, including the Swiss company DMBAU, were transferred to new investors. Thus, DMBAUwas formed as an independent company that continues to develop innovative solutions in the field of modular and timber construction, guaranteeing customers the highest quality and reliability.
